Inspection Grading Scale
The Inspection Grading Scale page allows you to customize inspection scoring based on pre-determined percentages. An inspection grading scale is optional unlike Inspection Scoring Types which are required. Inspection grading scales are created by completing two processes: adding a basic grading scale, and then add grading scale detail items.
To open the Inspection Grading Scale page:

Open the Administration Menu page.

Under the INSPECTION ADMIN heading, click Inspection Grading Scale.
To add an inspection grading scale:

Click the Add Inspection Grading Scale link.

In the Grading Scale Desc field, a name for the grading scale.
The grading scale description should indicate how the grading scale will be used.

In the Tab Order field, enter a numeric value.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

In the Active field, select Yes to indicate that the grading scale is active.
Inactive grading scales remain in the system, but are not displayed to the user.

Click OK.
After the grading scale has been added, can to add grading scale detail items to specify percentage values to each grading scale. To add inspection grading scale detail items:

Click the Add Inspection Grading Scale Detail link.
The Add Inspection Grading Scale Detail dialog box opens.

In the Grading Scale Detail Desc field, enter the name for the grading scale detail item.

In the Grading Scale Cut Off Values fields, enter two numeric values that define the grading scale detail item range.
These values indicate the inspection percentage scores that define this grading scale detail item. For example, you could define a value of "Excellent" that had a defined range of 90 to 100%. You cannot create multiple grading scale detail items whose cut off value ranges overlap.

In the Tab Order field, enter a numeric value.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

In the Active field, select Yes indicate that the grading scale detail item is active.
Inactive grading scale detail items remain in the system, but are not displayed to the user.

Click OK.
You can edit an inspection grading scale, if needed. For example, if you want to change an inspection grading scale's position in drop-down menus, you can modify the tab order. To edit an inspection grading scale:

In the Inspection Grading Scale field, select the grading scale you want to edit.

Click the Edit Inspection Grading Scale link.

Modify any of the following values:
- Grading Scale Desc – the name of the grading scale
- Tab Order – the order in which this grading scale is listed in drop-down menus
- Active – Yes if this grading scale is active
- Click UPDATE.
You can edit an inspection grading scale detail item, if needed. For example, if you want to change the name of the item the user sees, you can modify the description. To edit an inspection grading scale detail item:

In the Inspection Grading Scale field, select the grading scale containing the detail item you want to edit.

In the Inspection Grading Scale Detail pane, click the EDIT link to the right of the item you want to edit.

Modify any of the following values:
- Grading Scale Detail Desc – the name of the grading scale detail item
- Grading Scale Cut Off Values – two numeric values that define the grading scale detail range
- Tab Order – the order in which this grading scale detail item is listed in drop-down menus
- Active – Yes if this grading scale detail item is active

Click UPDATE.
When the inspection grading scale and inspection grading scale detail items are complete, the inspection grading scale can be associated to the inspection through Inspection Classes and Types.
